Amazon has started hiring staff for its new distribution center in Dobrovíz, to the west of Prague. The center should open before the end of the third quarter 2015. The giant on-line retailer needs to hire 1,000 staff and 100 managers. Amazon is offering CZK 110 per hour to warehouse staff and CZK 150 per hour to its management. The 100,0000 sqm distribution center, developed by Panattoni, should offer a total of 2,000 regular jobs and 3,000 seasonal positions for six to eight week periods at top seasons. Amazon is cooperating with the local labor offices in its search for employees. It plans to focus on Prague, Central Bohemia and Ústecký regions. The Ústecký region has the highest unemployment rate at 10 percent.
