Green Pages: Flow East to deploy active skin on Wenceslas Square

21 April 2015

Flow East is pledging that its Flower Building project on Wenceslas Square will not only enliven the city center, but that it will be a highly ecologically friendly design that employs an active façade as just one of the state-of-the-art technologies. While many of the more famous buildings on Wenceslas Square in the Functionalist style use large glazed areas to let the maximum amount of daylight in, Flower Building’s façade will react to conditions within the building to increase or decrease its opacity, depending on what is required. Efficient heat pumps will be used to transfer temperature differentials and cooling via chilled ceilings and a heat recovery system will help achieve reductions in energy consumption (claims the developer) of 75 percent.
