PSJ is renovating an apartment building into for scientists working for CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. The renovation is expected to cost €1.5m. The Czech contractor competed with Swiss, Italian and French companies last year for the order and won the European tender with the lowest bid. Construction started in January and is scheduled for completion by the end of June. The building, which currently offers 72 small apartments, is part of a CERN area located on the French-Swiss border. The area includes 400 buildings, with 9,500 scientists from 500 universities and research centers working there. PSJ’s project manager, Jaroslav Řičánek, claims that the contract could lead to future opportunities within CERN area and its sites worldwide.
