Florida gets needed household income growth

30 March 2015

A new report by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis shows that household income in Florida is growing faster than the national average, rising from $811 billion in 2013 to $848 billion in 2014. According to the report, this represented an average increase of 4.6 percent in 2014, compared to just 3.9 percent nationwide – the 11th best result among the 50 states. Florida needs this kind of growth badly, as its average per capita income in 2014 was 8 percent below the U.S. average. Average personal income in 2014 for Florida’s 19.9 million residents was $42,645, good enough for just 28th in the nation.
