Kaufland will open a second store in Constanta on Thursday, bumping its Romanian network to 103 locations. The German hypermarket retailer intends to open an additional eight stores this year, with new locations in Bacau, Bucharest, Timisoara, Sibiu, Sibiu, Brăila and Arad.
Kaufland entered the Romanian market in 2005. Last year, it opened 13 new stores in Romania, while its net profit grew by more than 20 percent to €75m.
