Škoda Auto to invest CZK 7bn in Kvasiny

24 March 2015

Škoda Auto plans to invest more than CZK 7bn into the modernization and extension of its manufacturing plant in Kvasiny. To support the car producer’s plans, the Czech government says it will allocate CZK 1.4bn into road and railway infrastructure needed for the facility along with CZK 600 thousand for the industrial zone Solnice-Kvasiny. Trade and Industry Minister Jan Mládek says that the government wants to attract further investors to the location, and plans to offer them incentives. The 52 ha zone will be managed by the regional government, which has started land assembly, buying land for around CZK 220/sqm. The extended Škoda production facility should create 1,300 new jobs and another 400 among suppliers.
