Speculative buyers bid for Bratislava bypass plots

There’s growing concern in Bratislava that land needed for the construction of the planned bypass of the city is being bought up by speculators. The mayor of Vajnor, a suburb of Bratislava, says he’s had repeated reports of “unreliable offers” at extremely low prices for plots that are affected by the construction of the D4. He called on land owners to visit the town’s main office for up to date information on plans and buy out terms. A public meeting for land owners will be held at the end of March where the process of selling plots to the state will be explained. Construction of the bypass, it’s hoped, will begin by the end of 2015.
