Autoliv is planning to invest HUF 11bn to expand its base in Sopronkövesd. The state will finance HUF 1.5bn of the costs. The Swedish automotive safety equipment producer plans to build a 15,000 sqm seatbelt plant in Sopronkövesd by 2018, an upgrade from 19,000 sqm unit currently used. The company is committed to boosting its share of local suppliers from 5 percent to 20 percent for raw materials and from 30 percent to 50 percent for machinery. The investment will create more than 700 jobs.
