The Florida Board of Governors has given the green light for the University of Central Florida’s $5.8 million funding request for construction of its $207 million downtown Orlando campus. Part of the funding for the 20 acre site will go toward what’s being called Building A, a proposed $57.8 million joint UCF/Valencia College student support and services building. The new downtown campus will serve 13,000 students and will be part of the city’s Creative Village. Decisions on which academic programs will move downtown are expected in late 2015.
