Central Group faces opposition in Haje – Prague 11

20 February 2015

A wave of opposition appears to be rising against a trio of highrise apartment buildings that the residential developer Central Group hopes to build in Prague 11’s Haje district. The daily denik.cz reports that a public meeting was held on the issue last night in a local elementary school in a room that was too small to accommodate the participants. The buildings would be 17, 14 and 11 storeys high, offering 279 apartments and 216 ‘non-residential’ units. A total of 503 parking space would be created according to planning documents. Residents fear that the crowded district will become unlivable as traffic will increase and the demands upon local services will be further strained.
