Slovak construction slide among fastest in EU

Construction in the last month of 2014 slowed 0.8 percent in Slovakia compared to the previous months, and by 9.8 percent compared December 2013. This made it one of the worst performers in the Eurozone, which saw December construction fall by just 3.5 percent compared to December 2013. Taking into account all of the EU member states, construction fell by just 0.5 percent according to new figures released by Eurostat. The decline in the Czech Republic was just 7.8 percent, while Germany’s construction sector slowed by a mere 4.7 percent. Poland, Great Britain and Romania made gains during September (of 4.8, 4.8 and 15 percent respectively.
