Wilson & Partners wrapped up a very successful 2014 that featured the closing of a record number of deals, numerous awards, high-profile speaking engagements, office expansions, and numerous CSR activities.
In a year that saw the continued revival of the real estate market, Wilson & Partners closed a number of high-profile deals that included the sale of the Balabenka Office Building by Skanska Property to the CIB Group, the acquisition and subsequent lease-back of the Bang & Olufsen factory in Koprivnice and the sale of Prague City Centre on behalf of GLL.
Despite the heavy workload, the firm’s Partners took on several high profile speaking engagements, with partners from the Bratislava office speaking at the CEDES conference, the Annual Conference of the French Chamber of Commerce, the Stavebne Forum Conference and the Annual AmCham-Forbes conference, whilst in Prague, Wilsons was one of the main partners of the 15th Annual CEDEM CEE real estate conference, which saw Bryan Wilson leading a panel on the opening day.
The firm’s real estate transactions earned it a number of accolades from prestigious players in the worlds of law and real estate, including the 2014 Legal Comprehensive Law Award, ‘Tier #1 in Real Estate and Construction’ by Legal 500, ‘Band #1 in Real Estate’ by the Chambers Europe Guide, ‘Construction Consultancy of the Year – Czech Republic’ by Acquisition International’s M&A Awards and ‘Property Acquisitions Law Firm of the Year’ by Global Law Experts. The firm’s Prague and Bratislava offices have also received four of the top 2015 Corporate Intl Magazine Legal Awards.
Talking about 2014, Bryan Wilson, the firm’s Managing Partner, said:
“2014 seems to have been a year of deals, awards and a huge amount of hard work. We grew a lot this year, and moving into 2015 we are hoping for even better results, and whilst we look forward to strengthening our reputation as the leading independent real estate law firm in the Czech and Slovak Republics, we also hope to grow as a leader in other sectors as well.”
The firm has continued to expand its personnel to keep up with its success, adding a number of new Junior Lawyers to both its Slovak and Czech offices during the course of the year. And despite the exceptionally busy year, Wilsons didn’t neglect its social responsibility; the firm continued to run for the Joshua Hayday Helping Hand Trust and several other local and international charities.
