Logistics real estate developer is presenting its new strategy and structure. Investments of €500 million planned. Developing local markets through local presence and international expertise.
Panattoni Europe, the full-service logistics real estate developer, is making a change in its corporate structure, strategy, and management. At the end of last year, this subsidiary of Panattoni Development Company, one of the leading real estate companies in the United States of America, moved into its new corporate headquarters located in Hamburg’s Hafen-City and is building out its business in Germany from there. And part of these changes included Sönke Kewitz and Fred-Markus Bohne joining the management, which took effect prior to the new year.
The change in management was, at the same time, the initial spark for Panattoni’s business strategy in Germany. ” As a market leader, Panattoni Europe has been quite successful in eastern Europe. We want to follow that example and transfer our successful strategy here. Part of this means presenting our know-how and experience to the markets-we convince with quality and reliability,” said Sönke Kewitz, managing director of Panattoni Europe. His partner, Fred-Markus Bohne, adds: ” An essential building block of our strategy is our proven knowledge of the market and our being close to our clients and their projects. We see ourselves as an international company with a local focus.” In addition to its headquarters in Hamburg, Panattoni’s local presence in Germany is strengthened by its offices in Munich and Mannheim.
At present, some 55,000 square meters of logistics space is being developed by Panattoni, all scheduled for the first quarter of 2015 in Bremen, Henstedt-Ulzburg, and Hassfurt. The facilities are being realized by the new team with the green light already having been given for two projects in southern Germany, each comprising 20,000 square meters and set for realization in the first quarter of 2015. At present, the team is still growing and consists of 13 members. Sönke Kewitz and Fred-Markus Bohne have set clear goals as part of the strategic reorientation: as early as over the next few months, they are planning to invest some €300 million in real property with land banking all across Germany. An additional €200 million are intended for investments in build-to-suit projects. The next step Panattoni is taking involves the continued build-out of its property management division in order to be able to even better meet client requirements. Over the mid-term, this division is supposed to be managing a volume of several hundred million.
In conjunction with Panattoni Development Company, the German offices have a stable international network. Panattoni is therefore keeping step with the times and guaranteeing its clients experience and global expertise-all connected with local competence.
