Prague Sparta’s stadium renovation in EIA

15 December 2014

ACS Properties, a company owned by the former J&T partner Daniel Křetínský, has applied for the EIA assessment for a project that includes a thorough renovation of the Sparta football stadium in Prague 7-Letná and construction of an adjacent mixed-use building and office block.

The project was originally conceived by ECE, which planned to build a shopping mall next to the football stadium. Under the current plan, presented by ACS Property, the football stadium, or Generali Arena, will get a facelift, and its seating capacity will be reduced by 1,165 seats to 18,251. The seven-story mixed-use 115,000 sqm building will be built to replace the training playground. It will offer 15,000 sqm of retail space, a multiplex, fitness, congress space, additional facilities and rental flats. The office building will offer some 11,000 sqm of office space and flats that will be used by the football club. The investor hopes to start construction in 2016, with completion scheduled for 2018.
