Poland’s state-owned lender Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) acquired its first residential project from local developer Wechta. The price of the deal was not disclosed. The flats, located in Poznań, will go into BGK’s rental housing fund. The first 124 flats in the bank’s Fundusz Mieszkań na Wynajem will be placed on the Poznań rental market in January.
BGK said the flats will range in size from 23 sqm to 72 sqm. The first tenants will move into their flats in March. The project is located on Saperska street in the Wilda district, 6 km from Poznań’s city center.
BGK is eyeing another 34 housing projects, totaling 3,400 flats. The projects are located in Warsaw, TriCity, Wrocław, Łódź, Poznań and Katowice.
