Alro Slatina, one of the largest aluminum producers in Central and Eastern Europe, posted an adjusted loss of RON 115m in the first nine months of the year, according to a statement issued by the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Marian Nastase, Alro Slatina’s board president, blamed the loss on energy-related taxes and a drop in demand. The company posted RON 21m in losses last year. Company reps say they plan to focus on renewable energy investments. The company’s main EU markets are Hungary, Poland, Greece, Germany and Romania. It also exports to the US and Asia.
