Deutsche Bank secured a €133.4m loan from Deutsche Hypothekenbank for the acquisition of Warsaw’s Metropolitan office project. The deal closed in early October, with RREEF Spezial Invest GmbH acting on behalf of the German lender. The 38,000 sqm Metropolitan sold for €190m.
Andreas Pohl, a spokesman for Deutsche Hypo, said the bank is committed to Poland’s property market and to expanding its portfolio with one of most recognized projects in Warsaw. Deutsche Hypo relaunched its operations on the Polish market in March. Pohl said the bank is in talks with a number of potential partners for new acquisitions on the Polish market. “Compared to other European markets, Poland remains one of the fastest-growing real estate financing markets in Europe,” he said.
