Czech state to invest CZK 233bn into infrastructure

Czech government has greenlighted transport infrastructure projects worth a total of CZK 233bn. Officials approved 200 projects, including the D3 motorway in South Bohemia, the R35 speedway in Opatovice, a new section of the D1 between Přerov and Lipník and a new section of the D11 motorway between Hradec Králové and Smiřice. The Transport Ministry wants to break ground on these projects by 2016.

The projects will be financed by the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure (SFDI), with CZK 130bn earmarked for roads and motorways, and CZK 97bn set aside for railway improvements.
