Škoda to invest CZK 13bn into Kvasiny

Car manufacturer Škoda is planning to invest CZK 13bn to expand its plant in Kvasiny and hire 1,500 new employees. The annual production of the factory should gradually increase over the next couple of years, as the carmaker plans to manufacture SUVs at the site, Michael Oeljeklaus, a member of Škoda’s board, told ČTK. Currently Škoda produces Superbs, Yetis and Roomsters at the plant. The Kvasiny factory currently employs 4,200 and produces 150,000 cars annually. The company also plans to add 40,000 sqm of logistics space to the plant.
