Start-up neighborhood planned for Berlin

17 September 2014

A new urban neighborhood is being planned on the grounds of the former Siemens cable factory in Berlin’s Spandau District. The plan is for restaurants, schools, apartments and offices to be built primarily for start-up companies. A 20-storey “Startup Tower” is also to be constructed and is intended to serve as a landmark for the new district. The idea was presented by District Councillor Carsten Röding together with the president of the BBR federal office for construction and regional planning, Florian Mausbauch.
