17 September 2014

According to SelectProperty, the average monthly rent paid by those who rent their living space currently stands at GBP 921, a figure that has risen 8.2 percent over the last 12 months. The group says this is connected with a 3.9 percent increase in salaries over the same period. The result for those who invest in a buy-to-let scenario are earning a return that outperforms most other asset classes. The average rental value of new tenancies, writes SelectProperty, rose 7.8 percent, a bigger gain than was achieved in either 2012 or 2011.
