P3 Hands Over Poznań BTS Unit to Zaparoh (Sofa.com) in Expanding Polish Gądki Logistics Hub

10 September 2014

P3, the specialist owner, developer and manager of European logistics properties, handed over a new 11,252 m2 build-to-suit (BTS) production and warehouse facility at PointPark Poznań to Zaparoh, a manufacturer of high–quality furniture, such as sofas, chairs and beds, for online sale via parent company Sofa.com in Europe and the U.S.

The facility leased by Zaparoh will employ around 160 local people in the rapidly developing manufacturing and logistics hub of Gadki around Poznań in Western Poland and consists of 4,386 m2 of production space, 6,201 m2 of warehousing and 665 m2 in offices. Zaparoh selected PointPark Poznań because of the park’s excellent motorway and rail links to the rest of Poland and Western Europe.

Piotr Bzowski, P3 Poland’s Leasing and Development Director said: “We started construction of the facility for Zaparoh in March and delivered it on-time and to specification on September 1st. Zaparoh were looking for a larger unit to accommodate an expansion in manufacturing capacity, due to the demands of their growing business and a partner, such as P3, who could swiftly meet these technical requirements.”

PointPark Poznań is located some 10km south of the city of Poznań and close to the A2 highway, that since 2012 provides Warsaw with an unbroken motorway link to Berlin and Western Europe. The park has a total space of 194,569 m2 including BTS opportunities with valid construction permits for four buildings covering 88,000 m2. Existing tenants include PF Logo Express, CEVA Logistics, DHL, Transpol CI, Hager Polo and Wheels Logistics.

Artur Zakrzewski, Managing Director of Zaparoh, said: “The opening of this production and distribution facility will further support us in our goal of supplying customers with high quality furniture at more competitive prices online than they can find in stores. PointPark Poznań offers a very attractive combination of an available labour force with a location that allows easy transport to our largest markets”.
