Goldbeck plans Czech expansion

21 August 2014

The German concrete producer Goldbeck is looking for a new location from which it can expand its activities on the Czech market. It’s currently deciding whether to pursue a greenfield solution to acquire an existing production unit. The investment will likely be located in the western part of the Czech Republic, as the majority of Goldbeck’s production activity is intended for the German market, writes the server e15. Petr John, Goldbeck’s director and a 10-percent shareholder, says a decision should be made within the next 18 months.

The company also intends to expand its Tovačov production unit, located in the country’s Moravian region, which it bought in 2011. Goldbeck uses the facility to serve its customers in Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. The company has invested CZK 27m into the Tovačov facility in recent years. The expansion is expected to unfold in two phases with costs estimated at CZK 50m.
