The Canadian automotive parts supplier Magna International Inc. is planning to nearly double the size of its manufacturing plant in Trnava, western Slovakia. The facility, which produces interior car parts like door and instrument panels and armrests, will be expanded from 8,700 sqm to roughly 15,500 sqm. The company said it needs the extra space to accommodate its growing automotive interiors business.
“Continuing to grow our business and expand our plant is proof that we are delivering value to our customers,” Ralf Link, general manager of Magna Interiors Trnava, said in a statement. “Additionally, this expansion positions us for future growth opportunities, which is good for our employees and the local community.” The Trnava plant open in 2006 and has around 400 employees.
