Unemployment in Hungary failed to fall in the second quarter of 2014, however it’s current level of 8 percent is 2.3 percent lower than it was a year ago. The Central Statistical Office revealed that the number of unemployed Hungarians between the ages of 15 and 74 was 358,900, down from nearly 450,000 in Q2 2013. Just over half of these people have been looking for work for more than a year and average amount of time spent looking for a job is 19 months. The numbers correspond with a mildly positive economic outlook for the country as a slow recovery continues.
