BASF completes first phase of Wrocław facility

22 July 2014

BASF, one of the leading chemical manufacturers on the Polish market, has started production at its new catalytic converter factory in Środa Śląska near Wrocław.
Construction of the new 40,000 sqm manufacturing facility began in 2012 with an initial €90m investment. The first phase of the factory began production trials in April. In June, two manufacturing lines were launched. The catalysts will be used by manufacturers of light-duty petrol vehicles and light- and heavy-duty diesel vehicles to meet more stringent EU regulations. There are currently around 100 employees working at the BASF factory, which should be completed by 2016.
