Czech car output grows by 10% in H1

Czech car output increased by 10.3 percent during the first six months of the year, hitting nearly 635,000 units. Škoda led the pack, producing 391,844 cars and selling 522,500 in H1. The company also sent a new monthly sales record, selling 94,500 units in June alone. Sales for Škoda’s Octavia model in Western Europe jumped by 47.4 percent and globally by 7.5 percent. Hyundai, meanwhile, saw its output increase by 3 percent y-o-y to 159,980 cars in H1. TPCA, however, reported a 20-percent decrease in production, rolling out just 83,089 cars.
