For the fourth consecutive month, Poland’s Purchasing Managers Index missed market expectations in June. According to figures just released by Markit and HSCB, the country’s PMI dropped by to 50.3 points from 50.8 points in May. Analysts, who had been expected the PMI for the country would rise to 51 points, warn that the country hasn’t seen a 4-month decrease since 2008. They add that sentiment has worsened in reaction to stagnation in Polish manufacturing.
“New orders in Poland’s manufacturing sector did not changed in June, breaking the 12-month rise streak,” wrote HSBC in a report. “This has negatively affected the production and Poland’s labor market, which both proved to rise lower-than-expected.”
