Alpine Bau Deutschland AG filed a lawsuit this week against Poland’s Treasury, seeking relief from a construction contract for the National Stadium in Warsaw. The claim amounts to PLN 139m, resulting from the financial loss Alpine Bau reportedly suffered as general contractor of the National Stadium. The project was led by a consortium consisting of Alpine Bau, PBG and Hydrobudowa Polska.
Alpine Bau claims the loss was due to numerous mistakes made by the investor during the construction of the project. “All of these shortcomings generated additional costs and extra work for the general contractor, resulting from serious defects of the designs provided by the investor,” Alpine Bau wrote in a statement.
