France’s faltering economy has taken another blow as confidence in its manufacturing sector fell for the second straight month in June. The country’s national statistics institute reported that the its sentiment index had fallen to 98 from 99 in May, a result that was worse than expected. The same institute said sentiment in the services industry stagnated at 90, but that this one point lower than it had been in April. Overall, the outlook for the country’s economic future fell from 94 to 92 in June. French household consumption continues to be weak and companies are responding by putting of investments.
