Seznam.cz plans to build its first in-house data center in an industrial zone on the outskirts of Prague. The company bought land at VGP Park Horní Počernice. Data centers have typically been located in the center of Prague where sufficient data network density and capacity is available. Cushman & Wakefield brokered the transaction. Altron will build the center.
“The planned size of the data center exceeds 2,500 sqm. This is the first in-house data center development project for Seznam.cz; the company has used outsourced data centers for its operations to date. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion by the end of this year,” says Denisa Molatová of Cushman & Wakefield’s Industrial Team. VGP helped prepare the technological infrastructure and was involved in the permitting process.
