The much-anticipated launch of the EagleEye mission, featuring the largest Polish satellite ever built by Creotech Instruments, is scheduled for tonight at approximately 20:19 Polish time. The launch is being facilitated by SpaceX, with the EagleEye satellite set to be carried into orbit aboard a Falcon-9 rocket from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The separation of the Polish satellite from the rocket is expected at 21:38 Polish time.
The EagleEye satellite represents a significant milestone for the Polish space industry, marking the culmination of years of work on the HyperSat satellite system. “This is a moment we and the entire Polish space industry have been waiting for,” said Grzegorz Bron, CEO of Creotech Instruments, in an official statement. He noted that the event holds special significance for him personally, as it fulfills a vision laid out 12 years ago when Creotech Instruments SA was founded. At the time, the company set a goal to design and manufacture fully Polish satellites—an ambition met with skepticism. However, through the development of state-of-the-art laboratories, production facilities, and the assembly of a talented team, Creotech is now ready to launch EagleEye into space.
EagleEye is not only the largest but also the most advanced microsatellite ever produced in Poland, weighing approximately 55 kg—equivalent to the total weight of all Polish satellites launched to date. Built on the proprietary HyperSat platform, which is integral to various national and European projects, EagleEye is equipped with an optical telescope from the Polish company Scanway. This telescope enables the satellite to capture images of the Earth’s surface in both the visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) spectrums. Additionally, the satellite features an instrument computer developed by the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Creotech Instruments, Poland’s leading manufacturer and supplier of space technology and specialized electronics, has made a significant impact on the global market. The company provides technology for quantum computers, quantum cryptography, and high-energy physics laboratories. After debuting on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) in 2022, following a move from the NewConnect market, Creotech continues to solidify its position as a key player in the international space industry.
