Following a dispute with the developer Marvipol, PKP is now reportedly facing new obstacles with its Dworzec Gdański project. Puls Biznesu writes that the proposal fails to note that one of the railway lines that the project cuts through is a crucial route for the Polish military, which it regularly uses to transport equipment and explosives. “According to provincial military staff in Warsaw, none of these plans has been agreed to by us,” Jacek Sońta, the spokesman for Poland’s Ministry of Defence, told the daily.
Katarzyna Mazurkiewicz, a spokeswoman for PKP, says the final design hasn’t been approved yet, which makes it possible for the investors to introduce changes. She points out, however, that the role of the disputed route shouldn’t impact the investment.
