The Slovak ministry of transportation is currently deciding whether it will to take on a new investor for the Bratislava airport, or whether to continue operating the facility on its own. It’s analyzing the results of a study on the advantages of bringing in private sector investors. A decision on the matter is expected within a month. The study was prepared by Deloitte Advisory and Sullivan & Worcester. It’s thought that the study concludes it would not be profitable for a private investor to take on the operations of the airport. If a private investor were to carry out the necessary investments needed for modernizing, the price the state could hope to command for the airport would likely be lower than is considered acceptable.
