Ryanair adds Prague routes in service expansion

20 May 2014

Ryanair is adding several European routes to its normal services, including a re-opening of Prague as a destination. It estimates it will be carrying a total of 180,000 passengers to Dublin and to London Stansted.

The news comes at the same time as Ryanair’s reported a profit loss in 2013. Net profit was down by 8 percent to €523m. The Irish low-cost airline carrier blames the poor performance on higher fuel prices and fierce competition on the European market. Analysts expected it to drop even deeper to €515m, but Ryanair’s performance is picking up thanks to a strong summer season and higher prices for passenger services. It expects profits to increase in the fiscal year starting in April by 10 to 20 percent.
