Prague wants to rebuild the Florenc metro station, which borders Prague 1 and 8. City leaders are considering investing CZK 2bn into a new city hall building at Florenc, CZK 400m of which would be earmarked toward the reconstruction of the metro station. A study and financial analysis of the project are being conducted. The plan also includes redeveloping city-owned land in the surrounding area. The city will partner with the Prague Transport Company (DPP) and Billa, which operates a supermarket on top of the metro station.
The proposed eight-story city office building would offer 30,400 sqm of space, writes the server e15. The city currently leases space at the Škoda palace on Jungmannova street in Prague 1. If the plan is greenlighted, the metro refurbishment and construction of the new city hall would take seven years to complete.
