The town of Trebišov may end up having to return millions of euro provided as subsidies by European Union for the creation of the Trebisov Industrial Park, which leased to the park’s operator, a company also called Trebisov Industrial Park (PPT). PPT’s relationship with the city has apparently broken down, according to the daily newspaper SME, resulting in the city turning off the electricity to the park. This forced a tenant at the park, the Danish storage systems producer Blika, to bring in diesel generators until a solution was reached.
Blika took PPT to court in Denmark and it announced that it had won its case, as the verdict ordered the electricity to be turned back on. However, the Danes are now reported to be considering their position and whether to continue doing business in Slovakia.
