After talks with the officials from the world’s largest on-line retailer, Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka claims that Amazon is rethinking plans to build a massive distribution center in Brno. “The company will now consider all options once again,” Sobotka told Czech TV, adding that the e-retail giant is expected to make a final decision on the matter within the next two months.
This latest twist comes just weeks after Amazon’s bid was rejected for the third time by Brno deputies. The company announced earlier this month that it would seek out other locations to build its 100,000 distribution center. Brno officials subsequently decided to sell the developer CTP the land in the city’s Černovická terasa industrial zone where Amazon had hoped to build its warehouse. It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to get Amazon back to the negotiating table.
