Cluj County Council has greenlighted plans to turn the city of Cluj into a Silicon Valley-like IT hub. The project, estimated at €300m, already has the backing of the Romanian and US governments. The council has started looking for a consulting company to conduct a feasibility study for Cluj Innovation City. The scheme will go up on 200 ha located in the city’s Lomb district. The project, which will be developed as a public-private partnership, is reportedly the first of this kind in Romania.
