Wolfgang Schäfer resigned this week as a CEO of IVG Immobilien, after the company filed for bankruptcy this month in a Bonn court. Schäfer claims the move is a natural step now that his role in creating a restructuring plan for the company has been completed. His decision has already been approved by the court.
However, tThe news came as a surprise to global observers, who haven’t even tried to guess who might replace the outgoing CEO. The IVG supervisory board said that the final decision on Schäfer’s replacement has yet to be approved by shareholders.
