Romania fifth most active wind farm installation in EU

13 February 2013

Romania ranked fifth in the European Union when it comes to the newly-installed power in wind farms last year, with 923 MW having been installed on the back of approximately investments of roughly €1.5bn.

Ziarul Financiar writes that the only countries to surpass Romania market were Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Spain. Romania is home to the largest land-based wind farm in Europe, after the Czech power company CEZ invested €1.1bn in two plants in Dobrogea.
