Norway and countries within the European Economic Area (EEA) agreed to give Romania a non-reimbursable financial package worth €306m by 2016, according to the news server hotnews.ro.
The money will be managed by the Romanian Ministry of European Funds and will be used for supporting new programs and projects in areas involving environmental protection, cultural heritage preservation, justice and civil society. Romanian authorities intend to take necessary measures to increase the absorption rate during this funding period, said Eugen Teodorovici, Romania’s Minister of European Funds.
