Only 150,000 sqm of commercial space was delivered in Romania last year, more than four time less than the 670,000 sqm posted in 2008, according to the news server Wall Street.
Currently, more than 160,000 sqm of commercial space is under development across the country. Coresi Shopping City Phase I, AFI Palace Ploiesti, Cora Slobozia, Corall Constanta, Uvertura Mall Botosani and Promenade Mall are scheduled for completion this year. The projects will bump the country’s overall commercial space to more than 2.8 million sqm.
The region’s commercial space supply is expected to grow by 6 percent over the next two years, according to news reports.
