Shares for the Dutch investor Imtech dropped 50 percent on Amsterdam main market index, the AEX, following news that the company’s Polish investments had cost it €100m. An audit of Imptech’s local businesses is now underway, and all the company’s Polish board members have been suspended. Imtech’s Polish problems stem to two projects: Adventure World Warsaw and its bio-energy plant. According to the daily Puls Biznesu, Imtech ran into serious problems in financing the AWW amusement park, a 24 ha scheme set to go up in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
The company said it would not pay any dividends this year, and it is currently in talks with loan providers.
