Orlen signs agreement with Rosnieft

4 February 2013

PKN Orlen signed a long-term agreement worth PLN 4.6bn with its Russian partner Rosnieft.
It’s the first contact the Polish giant has ever signed with any of its partners. Under the agreement, Rosnieft will deliver 80 percent of Orlen’s oil supply. Orlen head Jacek Krawiec called the agreement a milestone for the company adding that it will lower oil prices. Krawiec said the company will be able to save several US dollars on each barrel of oil.
“For many years, the trading companies have been delivering petroleum for Orlen,” Krawiec told the daily Puls Biznesu. “Although we have no objections to this model, we have been looking to sign this type of agreement for a long time.”
