Poland’s unemployment for January could reach 14 percent, the deputy minister of labor and social policy, Jacek Męcina, said in a radio interview Thursday. “The outlook for the coming months also remains cloudy,” he said, adding that the jobless rate will continue to fall in February, while seasonal factors will affect the market in March and April.
Męcina’s prediction is supported by data recently released by the Bureau for Investments and Economic Cycles, which indicates Poland’s unemployment rate increased to 90.8 points in January, up from 89.6 points recorded the previous month.
