With debts totalling RON 7.2m and under suit for claims worth nearly RON 10m, Societatea Feroviara de Turism (the Railroad Tourism Company), has entered into insolvency. At the end of this process, officials will analyze the possibilities of privatizing the company, according to the news portal dailybusiness.ro.
Societatea Feroviara de Turism oversees the rental of railroad assets, including buildings, terminals, its land holdings and railway lines. It also rents tennis courts, football and basketball fields, as well as boats.
The company’s debts include contributions to the state budget dating from 2010 as well as back taxes on buildings and royalties for the Bucovina Hotel in Vatra Dornei, the Decebal complex in Eforie Nord, the Grant hostel and the Snagov tourist complex.
