Computas takes over Ascenta

31 January 2013

The Norwegian consultancy and IT services company IT Computas took 84 percent of the Romanian company Ascenta IT Services, owned by the Romanian entrepreneur Florin Talpes.

Ascenta, which was initially part of the Softwin group, became a separate company in 2006.

The company did not announce the value of the transaction.
According to Trond Eilertsen, CEO of Computas, this is a strategic acquisition for the Norwegian company which will allow it to expand to EU and southeastern European markets.

Computas focuses on software development, architecture and integration, project management and consulting. Softwin is best known for its antivirus software BitDefender.
