Takko to open nine new stores in 2013

The German clothing retailer Takko plans to open an additional nine stores in Romania this year. Takko, which entered the regional market in 2007, currently has 62 stores in the country and averages RON 100m (€24m) in sales per year. Its most profitable location is its store in the city of Arad, which holds the sales record for bringing in €100,000 in a single day.

Takko targets low- and medium-income customers. Its direct competitors are C&A and H&M. Most Takko stores are located near Kaufland hypermarkets.
