Hungary held energy talks with officials in Cairo. Officials discussed potential cooperation opportunities for the two countries. Pál Kovács, the state secretary in charge of climate and energy issues at the Hungarian National Development Ministry, said the talks involved the minister of electricity and energy, the minister of petroleum and mineral resources as well as representatives from several Egyptian energy companies.
Kovács said the discussion surrounded mining laws, exploration and production as well as mineral reserve management. Egypt requested information regarding Hungary’s infrastructure development programs, energy efficiency measures and CO2 quota management measures.
